This is a sound recorder tool.
This sound recorder that can record sound in various audio formats. It is a MP3 recorder of course, but can handle other well known ones such as WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, MP2, VQF, AIFF, AIFC, AIF, 3GP, AAC, M4A, M4B, MP4, MPC, MP+, MPP, WV, AU, SND, RAW, GSM, VOX, PCM, ADPCM, G721, G723, FAP, PAF, SVX, 8SVX, IFF, NIST, IRCAM, SF, VOC, W64, MAT, MAT4, MAT5, PVF, XI, HTK, CAF, SDS, AVR, WAVEX, SD2, WVE, RF64 and user-customized formats too. It contains all the codecs necessary and you do not need to find or download any to make it work across these formats. Sources of audio could be many including audio/video files playback, CD player, line in, microphone, internet radio, even the obsolete tape/VHS cassettes. These inputs can actually be anything that can be played through the sound card of your machine.
As an additional help you could define your own format and use codecs suitable for that with this tool. For quality recording you could go up to 192 KHz sampling and 24/32 bit samples to record audio. For post processing on the raw recorded audio, several effects could be applied. Apply frequency filtering, amplitude gain, speed adjustment, earphone enhancement; vocal removal DSP effects could be applied to the audio data. Silence detection feature that enables pausing/resuming sound recording during silent passes is offered. The built-in metadata editor can handle ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv1, APEv2, Vorbis Comment, MPEG4, WMA, WAV, AIFF audio metadata. Scheduling is possible. This is a good product, has useful features and could be handy in the areas mentioned above.
